To me, the bright coloured faux fur sofa covers were a very memorable feature in my grandma’s house in Sofia which she moved out of about 11 years ago when we came to England. Last year she gave me a memory stick on which were some photos of things from her home - details that I don’t remember but must be important enough to her to document. Sofa covers and memory sticks is an ongoing body of work which plays around with the attachment of memories to fabric and texture, collaged with photographs of objects/places that tell a lot about people having experienced migration.
