Ravnogor is a small village in South Bulgaria, in which I spent much of my childhood. I hadn't gone back to it for 10 years after moving to England and in the summer of 2022 I visited again.
At that time I had a growing interest in oral histories and the way folklore stories are passed down generations. My childhood, especially in Ravnogor, was spent listening to folklore stories and superstitions from the older women.
Upon visiting again, I wanted to meet with some of them and record these stories, in an attempt to preserve them. This took the format of 'interviews' that I conducted with people, with no set structure, encoring them to tell me whatever they feel is most important.
Within the three days I had at the village, I interviewed five people.
